About John Young

I was born in London and have lived in Jersey for 47 years. Since coming her to work , Jersey has made my life.
I am married to Jean, have two adult children; a son who is a secondary school teacher, and a daughter who is a qualified solicitor. I have two adult step-daughters , four grandchildren including three teenagers , and two step granddaughters.
I am a retired qualified (CPFA) accountant, have an Open University Degree majoring in Science , a Diploma in Financial Services Compliance, and Oxford University Certificate in Management Studies
I keep a (small) boat in St Aubin’s harbour. I like pottering about the local waters, but don’t get enough time
I am regular motor cyclist for the past 60 years, a keen cyclist for many years , now an enthusiastic e-biker and love open spaces .
I enjoy any kind of music; have attended Glastonbury festival many times, BBC proms and many concerts.
I enjoy sports , local Rugby Club and attended the London & Paris Olympics and World Track cycling events
I love wild open spaces, the Island’s natural beauty and our countryside, the country lanes and rich heritage of buildings & fortifications.
I read historical novels and an interest in antiquarian books
I am IT literate, a silver surfer plus.
